In the fridge she found a half bottle of semiskimmed milk, and as she leaned to pick it up, a plan popped into her head.

She looked back up over the fridge door to see that Rupert had gone back into the bathroom, and she quickly took out the bottle of milk, went to the sink, and poured the milk down the drain. She had just finished when Rupert walked back in.

Holding up the now empty bottle, she said, “Rupert, it looks like we are out of milk. Could you just go out and get some so that we can have our coffee?”
